AUTHOR – Xin Xiangyang

Xin Xiangyang serves as Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS); Deputy Director of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics; Executive Deputy Director of the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; Deputy Director of the World Socialism Studies Center; and Vice President of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism. He holds the academic title of Level-II Research Fellow and Doctoral Supervisor.
He was awarded the Special Government Allowance of the State Council in 2012; named one of the Talents of the “Four-Batch” Program in the publicity and cultural system by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee in 2015; and selected as a Leading Talent under the National High-Level Personnel of Special Support Program (National Ten-Thousand Talents Program) jointly initiated by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2016. He also works as an evaluation expert for the National Social Science Fund of China and the National Publication Fund of China.
Major Academic Achievements: He has authored 20 monographs independently and compiled over 30 academic works as chief editor or contributing author. More than 400 papers have been published in authoritative newspapers and periodicals including People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Studies in Marxism and Studies on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. He has presided over or participated in more than 50 research projects at national and provincial/ministerial levels and won over 30 academic awards at the aforesaid tiers.
